this bottle was slightly stripped of fruit
If you want to understand what Gualtallary can do
brooding and reserved big-bodied flavors that are underpinned by firm but not aggressive tannins and excellent length
almost demi-glace like texture that envelops the palate
Chateau Marsannay, Clos Vougeot Vintage:2019 this bottle was slightly stripped(from a . 21 ha parcel of 100+ year old vines in Quartier des Marei Haut). A beautifully layered and unusually elegant nose presents notes of red and dark currant, spice, discreet wood and soft earth. The elegance of the nose is enhanced by the relatively refined texture of the medium weight flavors that are at once succulent but punchy, all wrapped in a youthfully austere finale. This needs more depth but its certainly an elegant Clos de Vougeot.
