1930s Indian Handfan, Sun Brand Umbrellas, Hand Fan (Bombay) boy often with striking visual effectDate: 1930s Size: 8. 5 x 9. 5 inches (8. 5 x 14. 25 with stick) About the Poster: I don't often find items from India, but when I do, they bring me joy. Just like this small Art Deco period hand fan for a company called Shah Nagjee Purushottam & Co., an umbrella merchant in Bombay. Hand fans were and still are important in hot climates, not only to keep the air moving but also to keep flies off! Charming, in lovely condition and ready to frame. Rare.
