This is a wonderful example of the classic Japanese Type 90 Tetsubo ( "steel cap") helmet, also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by Japanese troops. Features include: Original partial yellow SNLF insignia painted on front, which was scratched off leaving the black outline (possibly done by the original wearer in an effort to camouflage the insignia).
