This is an excellent totally inert example of a 1943 dated No. 36M MkI Grenade known as the "Mesopotamian" variant due to its shellac coating which was designed to keep moisture and humidity out of the detonator's fuse. The No. 36M MkI was the British army's standard hand grenade during WWII. This wonderful example is complete with internal parts (no explosives!) and original paint, including the three red Xs along
