After World War II, during which he was a prisoner of war for three years, Perkins returned to polo and achieved his highest rating, 8 goals, in 1946. During his career, Perkins won the U. S. Open and the Monty Waterbury twice each, in 1948 and 1951, played on the winning West team in the 1947 and 1951 East West
